As a non-profit organization, DDC depends on foundation grants, fundraising events and private donations. Delaware Dance Company's Mission: To advance the knowledge and appreciation of dance in the community and region through instruction, performances, and outreach programs: to provide the highest quality educational opportunities possible in all aspects of dance to anyone desiring such education; to be viewed as a community and regional leader in preparing vocational students for a professional career in dance.
Our Philosophy: We strive to provide our students with highest quality dance education possible, so whether they are with us for one year or many, they will leave with a love and appreciation of the art of dance, as well as a sense of self-worth and accomplishment. Our goal is to instill qualities that will carry students through their entire lives, whether they choose to pursue a career in dance or another field. Having the opportunity to view, converse and associate with professional company members, choreographers and directors provides the students a chance to develop unique relationships that very few young aspiring dancers can experience.
